Don't stick it, Stop it
Mencap recently published a report, "Don't stick it, Stop it" on the bullying of children and young people with a disability.
Their research found that 82% of children with a learning disability have experienced bullying and they are twice as likely as their peers to become targets for bullying. It revealed that the bullying didn't only occur at school but that children are being bullied everywhere they go, leaving them scared to leave their homes. Mencap have launched an anti-bullying campaign and made various recommendations to the Government and local authorities to tackle disability bullying.
